Ecclesiastes 3:11. God has put eternity in our hearts. What happens when we die has to be one of the most important questions in life and we look what the Scriptures have to say about this and our eternal destinies. We can rely on the truths revealed in the Scriptures.
Mark 10:17-22. In this profound encounter with Jesus, a rich young ruler asked Jesus how to gain eternal life, but when asked to sell all and follow Him, he walked away. Jesus warns that wealth can be a barrier to God. What might a person hold onto that might keep them from Christ?
1 Samuel 26:1-25. Although David had a prime opportunity for revenge against Saul, by faith in God he withstands the temptation. May we also develop convictions that help us withstand and endure in times of testing.
1 Samuel 25.24-44. Abigail mediates between David, with his sword drawn in anger, and Nabal, her foolish, arrogant husband. Her words of wisdom, grace and humility are so instructive for us all in our own relationships. Several characteristics of wisdom are noted for our own learning and growth.
1 Samuel 25:1-23. There are so many practical lessons from the life of David. He had just passed one test, in sparing Saul’s life, but is just about to fail another, in destroying the house of Nabal in anger and reaction. Thankfully God was going to intervene.
