1 Sam 30:1-10. When God’s hand of discipline was extended towards David in Ziklag, he is brought to the lowest point in his life to that point and a place of great distress. However, this affliction had the desired affect as we read that David then encouraged himself in the Lord His God and prays for guidance. As Christians, we must learn the art of encouraging ourselves in the Lord our God for when we might face trials, failures or discipline from the Lord.
