Is 40:11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
The World may say that only the wise, strong and able will succeed in this life. It may propose that you have to plan, work, slave, strive, achieve and be on some works program to success. Some people even bring this striving works mentality into their Christian life, but the ways of God are so different. We are not working for God or living to merit anything from him, instead he gives us grace, strength, encouragement on the way.
We are not to strive. sweat or slave, but to rest in Him and He enables us to do what He has called us to do. He simply wants us to trust Him as our Shepherd and rest in His love and care for us. We don’t need to be anxious, but can rest in knowing that he is in control and leads us gently.
David followed the Lord as his good shepherd and said wanted for nothing because of this relationship (Psalm 23:1). When you simply follow His leading, you will end up walking in good success. It doesn’t mean your life will be trouble free, but it means you can have a peace and satifcation within as you walk with God through any valley. Of course we should make plans, be diligent and good stewards in this world, but first seek and hear what Jesus is saying to us as we bring our concerns and needs to Him.
Believe He will lead you by His Spirit and with His wisdom and perfect timing, that He will lead you beside still waters, cause you to lie down in green pastures, restore your soul and lead you in paths of righteousness. He carries you close to His heart and will lead you gently.
